I work in Washington, D.C., as an editor for the Dana Press, the publishing wing of a nonprofit that focuses on health and education. I started in January 2003. I edit BrainWork, Brain in the News, Immunology in the News, Arts Education in the News and the annual Progress Report on Brain Research. I also have edited two books, "A Well-Tempered Mind" and "Fatal Sequence," and m y most recent project was our brand new Dana Sourcebook of Immunology. You can find all of these at our Web site.

I lived in St. Petersburg, Fla., from November 2000 to September 2002. There, I was a member of the Tampa Bay Symphony. In the summer of 2000, I was a Dow Jones Newspaper Fund copy editing intern at The Denver Post. I volunteered and learned Hebrew on a kibbutz in Israel for 3 months in the spring of 2000. I graduated from the University of Missouri-Columbia in December 1999, with a Bachelor's degree in Journalism, News-Editorial.

I spent the Fall '99 semester at the Danish School of Journalism and Hogeschool van Utrecht, in Holland.

I grew up in Normal, Illinois. I graduated from Normal Community High School in 1995.
